Novel: Wallet Pass for Brands vs Stockist Store Locatorfor Shopify (2026)
Novel: Wallet Pass for Brands and Stockist Store Locator, while sharing the 'Selling in person' Shopify category, cater to distinct business needs. Novel focuses on enhancing customer retention and driving repeat purchases through digital wallet passes and push notifications, effectively bridging the online and in-store experiences. Its strengths lie in its POS integrations, referral programs, location-based pushes, and retention app integrations, allowing merchants to directly engage customers and incentivize repeat business. In contrast, Stockist Store Locator aims to improve in-store sales by providing customers with a user-friendly and customizable store locator map. Stockist excels in helping customers find physical store locations, manage store listings efficiently, and analyze customer search behavior. The app allows merchants to create detailed and searchable maps, enhancing brand trust and reducing customer support inquiries related to store locations. While Novel focuses on proactive engagement through mobile wallets and push notifications, Stockist caters to customers actively seeking a physical store presence. Both apps have perfect ratings; however, Stockist boasts a significantly larger number of reviews, suggesting wider adoption and potentially greater community feedback. The key difference lies in their approach to driving sales. Novel is proactive, pushing promotions and offers to customers' digital wallets, while Stockist is reactive, helping customers who are already interested in buying in-person find a convenient location.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing customer retention, referral programs, and direct engagement through push notifications and digital wallets, Novel: Wallet Pass for Brands is the superior choice. It offers a proactive approach to driving sales and fostering customer loyalty. However, given the low number of reviews, it's crucial to carefully consider the maturity of the app and potential limitations.
Stockist Store Locator is ideal for merchants with a strong emphasis on physical store locations and who want to improve in-store traffic. Its robust store locator features, customization options, and insightful analytics make it a valuable tool for connecting customers with nearby stores and understanding customer search behavior. The higher review count also suggests a more established and reliable solution.
Common Questions
Which app is better for a business with only an online presence?
Stockist Store Locator is not designed for businesses without physical locations. Novel: Wallet Pass for Brands can be leveraged to drive online sales through push notifications and referral programs even without a brick-and-mortar store, though its POS integrations would be irrelevant.
Which app is easier to integrate with existing systems?
Based on the descriptions, Novel: Wallet Pass for Brands explicitly mentions 'easy integration with just about any loyalty app', suggesting potentially easier integration with loyalty programs than Stockist. However, Stockist highlights seamless integration with Google Sheets.
Which app provides better analytics?
Stockist provides 'insightful analytics show exactly where customers are looking for your products', indicating a focus on location-based search data. Novel doesn't specify analytics beyond driving repeat sales and referrals, so Stockist likely provides better location-based analytics.
Is either app suitable for a dropshipping business?
Neither app is particularly suited for a pure dropshipping business, as dropshipping generally does not involve physical stores or the need for localized customer engagement in the same way. However, Novel's referral capabilities might be tangentially applicable.
If I have both online and physical stores, which app is better?
Both apps could provide value. Novel would help drive repeat business and integrate the online and physical experience with passes. Stockist would help customers find your physical store. If you can only afford one, decide whether your priority is driving repeat sales (Novel) or attracting *new* in-person customers (Stockist).
