Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
NS Estimated Delivery Date is likely easier to set up and use due to its focus on displaying EDDs and tracking information. ShipX requires configuring complex shipping rules and integrates with the Shopify Carrier Calculated Shipping API, potentially requiring more technical expertise.
Can both apps be used together?
Yes, in theory. NS Estimated Delivery Date enhances customer communication with EDD, while ShipX manages shipping rates. A merchant could use ShipX to calculate shipping costs accurately and then use NS Estimated Delivery Date to communicate the resulting estimated delivery date to the customer. However, this would require integration, likely manual configuration, as there is no indication of native compatibility between the apps.
Which app is better for international shipping?
ShipX ‑ Shipping Rates & Rules is likely better for international shipping due to its ability to calculate custom shipping rates by country and postal code, and its carrier integrations. NS Estimated Delivery Date can still display EDDs for international shipments, but doesn't handle the rate calculation complexities.
Which app is more beneficial for reducing 'where is my order' inquiries?
NS Estimated Delivery Date is significantly more beneficial for reducing 'where is my order' inquiries. Its branded order tracking page provides real-time shipping progress and EDD, empowering customers to track their orders without contacting customer support.
Does ShipX provide order tracking capabilities?
While ShipX integrates with shipping carriers, the provided data does not explicitly state that it provides a customer-facing order tracking page with an estimated delivery date like NS Estimated Delivery Date does. Its primary focus is rate calculation.
