Odoo Integration vs Synkro: Inventory Syncfor Shopify (2026)
Odoo Integration and Synkro: Inventory Sync address distinct needs within the Shopify ecosystem in 2026. Odoo Integration focuses on providing a deep, bidirectional integration between Shopify and Odoo ERP. This app targets merchants already using or intending to use Odoo for comprehensive business management, offering features like real-time order, product, customer, and inventory synchronization. It aims to streamline operations by connecting the Shopify storefront directly with the Odoo backend. Synkro: Inventory Sync, on the other hand, caters to merchants managing multiple Shopify stores. Its strength lies in effortlessly synchronizing inventory levels, product properties, and orders across these interconnected stores. With features such as product cloning, custom price rules, and order routing, Synkro aims to simplify multi-store management and improve operational efficiency. The app is designed for merchants prioritizing seamless inventory and product management across multiple Shopify instances. While both apps offer inventory management capabilities, their approaches and target audiences differ significantly. Odoo Integration is an ERP connector, offering accounting, CRM, and more functionality outside of Shopify, while Synkro is purely Shopify focused, and concerned only with synchronization between different stores.

Our Verdict
The choice between Odoo Integration and Synkro: Inventory Sync depends entirely on the merchant's specific needs. If the merchant already uses Odoo ERP or plans to implement it, Odoo Integration is the clear choice. It enables a seamless connection between Shopify and Odoo, allowing for efficient management of orders, inventory, and accounting. This results in consolidated data and automation of key processes.
However, if the merchant's primary concern is managing inventory and products across multiple Shopify stores, Synkro: Inventory Sync is the better solution. Its features like product cloning, custom price rules, and order routing make it easy to keep multiple stores in sync, saving time and effort. While the higher rating of Synkro is attractive, note the vastly larger sample size, indicating broader adoption and likely more robust support, even with the lower average rating.
Common Questions
What happens if I don't use Odoo? Should I still use Odoo Integration?
No. Odoo Integration is designed specifically for merchants who use the Odoo ERP system. Without Odoo, this app will not function as intended.
Can I use Synkro: Inventory Sync with Odoo Integration?
Potentially, but it's likely redundant and may cause conflicts. Consider the specific synchronization needs: if Odoo covers all multi-store inventory syncing, Synkro is unnecessary. Consult support for both apps to ensure compatibility.
How much technical expertise do I need to set up either app?
Odoo Integration likely requires more technical expertise due to the complexity of ERP systems. Synkro: Inventory Sync, focused on multi-store Shopify, will probably be easier to set up, but may require careful configuration.
Does either app offer a free trial or free plan?
The provided information doesn't mention free trials or plans. Merchants should check the Shopify App Store listings for the most up-to-date pricing and trial information.
Which app is better for preventing overselling?
Both apps aim to prevent overselling by synchronizing inventory levels. However, Odoo Integration might offer more robust inventory management due to Odoo's comprehensive ERP capabilities. Synkro focuses on keeping inventory consistent across stores, also mitigating overselling risks, particularly across stores where the same products are sold.
