Omni Store Locator vs OpenFiskal TSE & RKSV for POSfor Shopify (2026)
Omni Store Locator and OpenFiskal TSE & RKSV for POS are both highly rated Shopify apps, but they cater to vastly different needs. Omni Store Locator focuses on driving foot traffic to physical stores by optimizing online visibility and providing location-based services. Its strength lies in its SEO features, individual store pages, and geolocation capabilities, aiming to improve discoverability and ease of access for customers seeking in-person shopping experiences. It serves merchants with brick-and-mortar locations looking to bridge the gap between online search and physical store visits. OpenFiskal, on the other hand, is a regulatory compliance solution specifically designed for Shopify POS merchants in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. It handles the complex fiscalization requirements of these regions, ensuring adherence to KassenSichV and RKSV regulations. Its key strength is in generating secure, signed receipts with QR codes, managing Z-reports, and providing necessary data exports for audits and accounting. OpenFiskal targets merchants operating in the DACH region who require a robust and compliant point-of-sale system that meets local legal standards. The large difference in review count suggests OpenFiskal has a much larger user base and has been around for a longer time than Omni Store Locator.

Our Verdict
The choice between Omni Store Locator and OpenFiskal TSE & RKSV for POS depends entirely on the merchant's specific needs. If a merchant's priority is to increase foot traffic to their brick-and-mortar stores and improve their local SEO, Omni Store Locator is the clear choice. It provides tools to make stores easily discoverable and accessible. However, if a merchant is operating a Shopify POS system in Germany, Austria, or Switzerland, OpenFiskal TSE & RKSV for POS is essential. It ensures compliance with local fiscal regulations and avoids potential legal issues.
While both apps have 5-star ratings, the vastly different number of reviews suggests OpenFiskal is more established, and its functionality is irreplaceable for stores needing fiscal compliance in the DACH region. For the vast majority of stores operating outside of those three countries, Omni Store Locator will be the more impactful tool to choose.
