Omnibus ‑ EU Compliant Price vs Singleton | Advanced Discountsfor Shopify (2026)
Omnibus ‑ EU Compliant Price and Singleton | Advanced Discounts are both 5-star rated apps in the Shopify Pricing category, but they serve vastly different purposes. Omnibus focuses exclusively on ensuring merchants comply with the EU Omnibus Directive, displaying the lowest price of the past 30 days. It's a niche app targeted at businesses operating in the EU that require legal compliance. Singleton, on the other hand, provides advanced discount functionality, allowing merchants to create various types of automatic or code-based discounts to motivate customers to buy more, targeting a wider audience seeking increased sales and customer engagement. The key difference lies in their core functionality: compliance versus sales. Omnibus excels at meeting a specific legal requirement with its customizable widget and monitoring of price changes, whereas Singleton offers a suite of discount options (volume discounts, customer-specific discounts) designed to boost conversions and average order value. While both offer customization options, Omnibus focuses on widget appearance, and Singleton is focused on diverse discount types and display options like volume discount widgets and countdown timers. The stark contrast in the number of reviews (1 vs. 31) also suggests a much smaller user base for Omnibus, possibly due to its specialized function.

Our Verdict
If your Shopify store operates within the European Union and you need to comply with the Omnibus Directive, then Omnibus ‑ EU Compliant Price is the clear choice. It provides the specific functionality required for compliance. However, if your primary goal is to boost sales through various discount strategies, then Singleton | Advanced Discounts is the more suitable option. It offers a broader range of discount types and customer segmentation features that can be tailored to specific marketing goals.
For a new store, the low review count of Omnibus should be considered, especially regarding bug fixing and feature improvements. Unless EU compliance is a legal requirement, Singleton offers more immediate business value through sales uplift. Established EU stores may want to wait for more user reviews on Omnibus or test both during a trial period (if available) to ensure full compliance and proper integration before switching.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Omnibus is likely easier to set up due to its focused functionality. It primarily involves configuring the widget and ensuring the price tracking is working. Singleton's setup may be more complex due to the numerous discount options and rules that can be configured.
Which app offers better long-term value?
It depends on your needs. For EU compliance, Omnibus is essential for long-term legal adherence. For revenue growth, Singleton may offer better long-term value by providing a continuous stream of discount strategies to optimize sales.
Can both apps be used together?
Yes, in theory. Omnibus handles legal compliance with price transparency, while Singleton manages promotional discounts. There may be edge cases where a special discount impacts the 'lowest price' calculation, which would require manual monitoring to ensure full compliance.
Which app has better customer support?
Omnibus explicitly mentions support through live chat and email, suggesting a more robust support system. Singleton's support is not explicitly mentioned, making it difficult to assess its quality relative to Omnibus.
Is Singleton suitable for wholesale pricing?
Yes, Singleton mentions the ability to create discounts specifically for wholesale customers or B2B partner groups, making it a suitable option for stores with wholesale operations.
