Omnibus Insight: Price History vs WaveSoft Discountfor Shopify (2026)
Omnibus Insight: Price History and WaveSoft Discount both operate within the 'Pricing' category on Shopify, but they serve fundamentally different purposes. Omnibus Insight focuses on ensuring pricing transparency and compliance with the EU Omnibus Directive by displaying the lowest price over a specified period. It's geared towards merchants selling in the EU or those prioritizing transparency. WaveSoft Discount, on the other hand, aims to improve sales conversion by making discounts visible on product pages, rather than only at checkout. Its target audience is merchants who believe they're losing sales due to hidden discounts and want a seamless solution without code edits. Omnibus Insight offers features like multi-currency support, translation, and price history tracking, making it a powerful tool for international sellers and those needing detailed pricing data. WaveSoft Discount focuses on ease of use and immediate impact, offering features like bulk discount creation, scheduling, and automatic application to new products. The choice between the two depends heavily on whether the merchant's primary concern is regulatory compliance or discount visibility for increased sales.

Our Verdict
If you're selling in the EU and need to comply with the Omnibus Directive, Omnibus Insight: Price History is the clear choice. Its features are specifically designed to meet those regulatory requirements and provide the necessary transparency. However, if your primary goal is to boost sales by making discounts more visible and you're not concerned with EU regulations, WaveSoft Discount offers a simpler, more immediate solution that focuses on improving conversion rates.
While both apps address pricing-related concerns, their focuses are distinct. A merchant might even consider using both apps in conjunction if they operate in the EU and want to maximize both compliance and sales.
