OMSGuru ‑ Easy to use OMS vs Ricemill | Fulfilmentfor Shopify (2026)
OMSGuru and Ricemill are both 5-star rated Shopify apps in the 'Shipping solutions - Other' category, but they target distinct needs. OMSGuru positions itself as a comprehensive Order Management System (OMS), focusing on centralizing inventory, order processing, and shipping management across multiple channels, alongside accounting integrations. It aims to be a single solution for businesses looking to manage their entire order lifecycle. Ricemill, on the other hand, concentrates solely on streamlining fulfillment for Australian merchants using Australia Post MyPost, eParcel, and Sendle. It prioritizes easy setup, shipping rate comparison, and label printing. Ricemill's description emphasizes a 5-minute setup, hinting at a simpler, faster onboarding process than what OMSGuru may offer. The key difference lies in their scope. OMSGuru offers broader OMS capabilities including inventory management, multi-channel support, accounting integration, and omni-channel features like Buy Online, Pickup In Store, while Ricemill focuses narrowly on simplifying the label printing and shipping rate comparison for specific Australian carriers. Therefore, the choice between the two will largely depend on the merchant's specific needs. OMSGuru is suitable for merchants needing a centralized, all-in-one solution, while Ricemill is more appropriate for Australian merchants primarily focused on optimizing their shipping process with supported carriers.

Our Verdict
For Australian merchants who primarily use Australia Post MyPost, eParcel, or Sendle, and who prioritize quick setup and efficient label printing, Ricemill is the clear choice. Its focus on these specific carriers and its emphasis on ease of use makes it a highly targeted solution. However, if a merchant requires a comprehensive OMS with broader functionality, including inventory management, multi-channel order processing, accounting integration, and support for multiple shipping providers, OMSGuru is the better option. Its ability to centralize all aspects of the order lifecycle provides more comprehensive control and potentially greater efficiency for larger, more complex businesses. The small number of reviews for OMSGuru should be considered, however, and users should investigate further to ensure it meets their specific needs.
Common Questions
Does OMSGuru support Australian shipping carriers like Ricemill does?
