OneReview: Use Online Reviews vs ReviewsYard — Product Reviewsfor Shopify (2026)
OneReview: Use Online Reviews and ReviewsYard — Product Reviews take fundamentally different approaches to solving the product review problem for Shopify merchants. OneReview focuses on aggregating existing reviews from external sources like suppliers, review publishers, and major retailers, effectively addressing the 'no reviews' issue on new or unpopular products. This allows merchants to quickly populate their product pages with credibility-boosting social proof. ReviewsYard, on the other hand, concentrates on directly collecting reviews from the merchant's own customers post-purchase, emphasizing building an authentic, first-party review base. The choice between the two apps hinges on the merchant's specific needs and business strategy. OneReview is ideal for merchants who lack an established review base for their products, especially those selling items already widely reviewed elsewhere. ReviewsYard is better suited for merchants who prioritize building direct customer relationships and generating original content specifically related to their unique customer experiences. Furthermore, ReviewsYard appears to be more focused on automation and email marketing to solicit reviews, which is absent from OneReview's description.

Our Verdict
For new stores or products lacking reviews, OneReview provides an immediate solution by leveraging existing online reviews to quickly build credibility. It's a great option for merchants selling products already widely reviewed on platforms like Amazon. However, its reliance on external reviews means less control over review content.
ReviewsYard is the better choice for merchants prioritizing building a loyal customer base and gathering authentic, first-party reviews. Its automated review request system and incentive program can generate valuable customer feedback, which ultimately drives long-term growth and improves product offerings. The larger number of reviews suggests it's a more established and actively used app. Ultimately, the 'best' app depends on whether the merchant seeks instant credibility or long-term, authentic customer feedback.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
OneReview claims a 5-minute setup, likely because it focuses on importing existing reviews. ReviewsYard, while automated, probably requires more initial configuration of email sequences and incentive programs.
Which app offers more control over the review content?
ReviewsYard provides significantly more control, as it focuses on collecting reviews directly from your customers. With OneReview, you're relying on reviews from external sources, which you cannot directly influence.
Can I use both apps simultaneously?
OneReview explicitly states it can be paired with other review apps like Judge.me, Loox and Stamped, implying compatibility with ReviewsYard as well. OneReview aggregates existing reviews while ReviewsYard collects new ones, making them potentially complementary.
Which app is better for SEO?
Both apps can improve SEO by adding valuable user-generated content to your product pages. However, ReviewsYard's focus on collecting original customer reviews might provide a slight edge in terms of unique content and keyword relevance.
Which app is more suitable for building long-term customer relationships?
ReviewsYard is better suited for building long-term customer relationships. Its automated review requests, incentive programs, and focus on collecting customer feedback all contribute to a more engaged and loyal customer base. OneReview, while providing instant credibility, doesn't directly foster customer engagement.
