Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with controlling payment method visibility based on simple cart value rules, and who value ease of use above all else, OnlyWeb Payment Method Rules might be sufficient, assuming the lack of reviews isn't a major deterrent. However, the lack of any reviews is concerning. For merchants focused on optimizing their entire checkout flow through data-driven A/B testing, personalization, and AI-powered insights, PDQ is the clear choice. PDQ's comprehensive feature set and strong review rating suggest it is a mature and effective solution for those willing to invest the time and resources to leverage its capabilities.
Common Questions
What problem does OnlyWeb Payment Method Rules solve that PDQ does not?
OnlyWeb Payment Method Rules offers a straightforward way to conditionally hide payment methods based on cart total. While PDQ focuses on optimizing the overall checkout process, it doesn't explicitly state a feature for hiding payment methods based on simple conditions like cart value. This might be a more direct solution for merchants facing issues like excessive COD orders on low-value purchases.
Is PDQ more complicated to set up and use than OnlyWeb Payment Method Rules?
Based on the descriptions, PDQ is likely more complex to set up and use than OnlyWeb Payment Method Rules. PDQ's A/B testing, AI insights, and checkout extensions require active management and data analysis. OnlyWeb Payment Method Rules emphasizes its ease of use and no-code setup, suggesting a much simpler user experience.
Which app is better for a new Shopify store?
If the new store is facing immediate issues with unwanted payment methods, and needs a simple solution quickly, OnlyWeb Payment Method Rules *might* be a starting point. However, the lack of reviews is a major red flag. PDQ, while likely more complex, could be a better long-term investment as the store scales, providing the tools needed to optimize the checkout experience and drive conversion rates. Careful consideration of the store's current needs and future growth is necessary.
Does PDQ offer a feature similar to OnlyWeb Payment Method Rules' ability to hide COD?
The description of PDQ doesn't explicitly mention a direct equivalent to OnlyWeb Payment Method Rules' ability to hide Cash on Delivery (COD) based on cart value. However, it is possible that PDQ, with its A/B testing and personalization capabilities, could achieve a similar outcome by modifying the checkout experience based on user segments or other criteria.
How can I know if OnlyWeb Payment Method Rules is reliable, given its lack of reviews?
Without any reviews, it's difficult to assess the reliability of OnlyWeb Payment Method Rules. Consider contacting the developer directly to ask questions about their support process and to request a demo or trial period. Also, keep an eye out for any potential security concerns or issues raised in Shopify community forums.
