OnYou ‑ AI Virtual Try on vs Overlyapp ‑ 3D / AR viewerfor Shopify (2026)
OnYou ‑ AI Virtual Try on and Overlyapp ‑ 3D / AR viewer both aim to enhance the online shopping experience using immersive technologies, but they cater to distinct merchant needs and utilize different approaches. OnYou focuses on AI-powered virtual try-ons specifically for fashion brands, offering a personalized experience where customers can see themselves wearing clothes by uploading a photo. Its strength lies in its AI-driven features such as personalized recommendations, size guidance, and lead capture, making it a strong contender for fashion retailers seeking to reduce returns and boost sales through enhanced personalization. It positions itself as a quick, one-click integration with minimal coding required. Overlyapp ‑ 3D / AR viewer, on the other hand, offers a broader 3D/AR solution applicable to various product types. It emphasizes ease of use, catering to merchants new to 3D modeling, even offering to create 3D models for art sellers or setting up the entire system. The lack of initial reviews is a key differentiator. Overlyapp prioritizes product visualization from all angles and real-environment try-outs with AR. This makes it suitable for merchants who need to showcase product details and allow customers to visualize products in their own spaces, beyond just clothing. It focuses on enhancing buying confidence through comprehensive product viewing, and claims amazing customer support.

Our Verdict
For fashion brands specifically aiming to provide a personalized virtual try-on experience using AI, OnYou ‑ AI Virtual Try on appears to be the better option, based on the provided information and its existing positive (though limited) reviews. The AI shopping assistant and size recommendations are valuable features for reducing returns.
However, if a merchant needs a general-purpose 3D/AR viewer to showcase product details and allow customers to visualize items in their environment, and is also looking for extensive setup support, Overlyapp ‑ 3D / AR viewer could be suitable, provided they are willing to be an early adopter given the current lack of user reviews. The promise of comprehensive support, including 3D model creation, is a significant selling point, especially for merchants new to the technology.
