OpenFiskal TSE & RKSV for POS and QodeVault QR Codes Generator, while both 5-star rated, cater to vastly different needs within the Shopify ecosystem, despite both being categorized under "Selling in person". OpenFiskal is a highly specialized app designed to ensure compliance with fiscal regulations (KassenSichV and RKSV) in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland (DACH region) for Shopify POS merchants. Our Verdict
The choice between OpenFiskal and QodeVault hinges entirely on the merchant's specific needs. If a Shopify POS merchant operates in Germany, Austria, or Switzerland and requires a solution to comply with KassenSichV and RKSV regulations, OpenFiskal is the clear choice. It provides the necessary tools for legally compliant sales. However, for merchants looking to enhance marketing campaigns, drive traffic to product pages, and improve customer engagement through QR codes, QodeVault offers a flexible and customizable solution. A merchant requiring both legal compliance in the DACH region AND the ability to generate QR codes for marketing purposes might need both apps, or seek a more comprehensive solution that combines both functions if one exists.
