OpenFiskal TSE & RKSV for POS vs Shoppy Store Locatorfor Shopify (2026)
OpenFiskal TSE & RKSV for POS and Shoppy Store Locator serve entirely different purposes for Shopify merchants. OpenFiskal is a highly specialized application tailored for merchants in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland who need to comply with local fiscal regulations (KassenSichV and RKSV) related to point-of-sale transactions. It focuses on generating compliant receipts with QR codes, managing Z-reports, and providing necessary data exports for audits. Its strength lies in its compliance focus and accounting integrations. Shoppy Store Locator, on the other hand, is a more general-purpose application designed to enhance the customer experience by helping them find physical store locations. It is useful for retailers, franchises, and service-based businesses that operate brick-and-mortar locations. Key features include store tagging, bulk importing of store data, Google My Business synchronization, and address auto-suggestion. While both apps share the 'Selling in person' category, they cater to drastically different business needs: compliance versus customer accessibility.

Our Verdict
The choice between OpenFiskal TSE & RKSV for POS and Shoppy Store Locator hinges entirely on the merchant's specific needs. OpenFiskal is essential for businesses operating Shopify POS in Germany, Austria, or Switzerland who are legally obligated to comply with fiscal regulations. It is a must-have for those merchants.
Shoppy Store Locator is beneficial for businesses with physical store locations that want to improve their online-to-offline customer journey. If a merchant doesn't have physical stores or doesn't operate in the DACH region under those fiscal regulations, Shoppy Store Locator is the only relevant app. If a merchant needs *both* store locator functionality *and* fiscal compliance in the DACH region, they will likely need *both* apps (or similar solutions).
