Our Verdict
The choice between OpenFiskal TSE & RKSV for POS and SparkPlug hinges entirely on the merchant's primary need. If a merchant operates a brick-and-mortar store in Germany, Austria, or Switzerland and is required to comply with KassenSichV and RKSV regulations, OpenFiskal is the only viable option. It provides the necessary tools to meet legal requirements and simplify associated accounting processes. The high rating and existing reviews support its functionality.
SparkPlug, on the other hand, is suitable for any retailer, regardless of location, who is looking to boost employee motivation and sales performance. While the lack of reviews is a concern, its features suggest a potentially valuable tool for incentivizing employees and increasing revenue. If no compliance needs exist, and internal team performance needs boosting, SparkPlug is worthy of deeper investigation.
Common Questions
Does OpenFiskal TSE & RKSV for POS work outside of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland?
Based on the description, OpenFiskal is specifically designed for the DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland) and compliance with their regulations (KassenSichV and RKSV). It is unlikely to be useful or compliant in other regions.
Can SparkPlug handle complex commission structures?
The description mentions that SparkPlug's incentive platform is 'totally customizable', suggesting it can likely handle complex commission structures. However, the absence of reviews makes it difficult to confirm this definitively.
Is OpenFiskal a complete accounting solution?
OpenFiskal provides features that support accounting, such as Z-reports, cash books with CSV export, and data exports for audits. However, it's described as a 'fiscalization platform' and likely integrates with existing accounting software rather than being a complete replacement.
How does SparkPlug integrate with different POS systems?
SparkPlug integrates with Shopify POS. The description doesn't mention integrations with other POS systems. It would likely require integration directly with Shopify's sales data to make commission calculations.
What kind of support does OpenFiskal offer?
The description mentions 'personalized support'. The details of this support (e.g., phone, email, chat, hours) are not specified, but its existence is explicitly stated.
