OPTIS Product Options, Variant vs PC Price Calculator by Formulafor Shopify (2026)
OPTIS Product Options, Variant and PC Price Calculator by Formula both aim to enhance product customization on Shopify, but they cater to distinct needs. OPTIS, boasting a significantly higher number of reviews (1536) and a perfect 5-star rating, likely focuses on general product option customization, allowing merchants to offer a wide range of choices to their customers. This suggests a broader application across various product types. PC Price Calculator, on the other hand, specializes in dynamic pricing based on user input and formulas. While it also has a 5-star rating, its extremely low review count (2) indicates a niche product with limited user adoption. Its strength lies in calculating prices based on dimensions, volume, weight, or other quantifiable parameters, making it ideal for businesses selling customizable materials or products where the price directly correlates with specific measurements.

Our Verdict
For merchants requiring diverse and comprehensive product options, OPTIS Product Options, Variant is likely the better choice, backed by substantial positive user feedback. However, if the primary need is to implement real-time pricing based on specific formulas and customer-defined measurements (length, width, volume, etc.), then PC Price Calculator by Formula provides a focused solution. The extremely low number of reviews for PC Price Calculator warrants caution; merchants should thoroughly investigate its functionality and support before committing. A small business selling fabrics or custom-cut lumber, for example, would greatly benefit from PC Price Calculator. A store selling apparel might prefer OPTIS to offer various sizes, colors, and materials.
Common Questions
What is the biggest difference between OPTIS and PC Price Calculator?
OPTIS focuses on general product options, while PC Price Calculator specializes in dynamic, formula-driven pricing based on customer input of dimensions and measurements.
Which app is easier to use?
Without hands-on experience, it's difficult to say definitively. PC Price Calculator might be easier if the only requirement is formula-based pricing, but OPTIS might be easier if needing the broader base of product options. More information is needed to answer this question definitively.
Which app has better customer support?
The large number of reviews for OPTIS suggests a more established user base, which could imply better support resources and a larger community. The very low review count for PC Price Calculator may indicate a lack of community support.
Can PC Price Calculator handle simple variant options like color or size?
While it *could* potentially use formulas to adjust prices based on color or size, it's not its primary function. OPTIS is better suited for these types of standard variant options.
If I sell custom-sized blinds, which app should I choose?
PC Price Calculator by Formula is the more suitable choice, as it is designed to calculate prices based on user-defined dimensions like length and width. OPTIS focuses on a broader set of product options and variant customizations.
