Our Verdict
If you're selling eyewear and need a solution to handle prescriptions, SB Prescription Eye Lens is the clear choice. Its feature set is laser-focused on this specific need, providing tools for prescription uploads, manual entry, and lens customization. OPTIS Product Options, Variant, on the other hand, is a better fit for merchants selling a wider range of products that require customizable options, but not necessarily prescription management. While OPTIS might be adaptable to some basic eyewear customization, it lacks the specialized features of SB Prescription Eye Lens. Consider SB Prescription Eye Lens as the go-to app if your primary focus is eyewear.
Common Questions
Can OPTIS Product Options, Variant be used for prescription eyewear?
While OPTIS offers general product options, it lacks the specific features required for managing prescriptions like uploads, PD input, and specialized lens parameters. It's not ideally suited for prescription eyewear.
Is SB Prescription Eye Lens suitable for other custom product types?
No, SB Prescription Eye Lens is designed exclusively for prescription eyewear. Its features are tailored to that specific product category and would not be relevant or effective for other custom product types.
Which app is easier to set up?
SB Prescription Eye Lens is likely easier to set up for eyewear stores because it is specifically designed for that industry. OPTIS, being more general, might require more configuration to achieve the desired results for eyewear.
Does OPTIS Product Options, Variant support file uploads?
The app is in the Custom file upload category, so it is likely that it supports file uploads. However, the description does not make this explicit, so this would have to be confirmed.
Which app is better for scaling a business?
Both apps appear to scale well, judging by their ratings. However, OPTIS's larger user base and wider applicability mean it potentially offers more long-term value for stores selling a variety of customizable products. SB Prescription Eye Lens offers a more concentrated focus for eyewear stores, which may allow for more efficient business practices within that specialized area.
