OPTIS Product Options, Variant vs Unitpricer ‑ Weight Size Vol.for Shopify (2026)
OPTIS Product Options, Variant and Unitpricer ‑ Weight Size Vol. both address the 'Custom products' Shopify category, but cater to vastly different needs. OPTIS Product Options, Variant focuses on providing extensive product customization options for online sales. It boasts a high rating and significant user base, suggesting robust functionality and user satisfaction. Unitpricer ‑ Weight Size Vol., on the other hand, is designed specifically for Shopify POS systems and enables merchants to sell products by weight, size, length, or volume using imperial and metric units. The critical difference lies in their application. OPTIS enhances online product presentation and customization. Unitpricer directly impacts in-person sales by allowing pricing based on measured quantities. The extremely low review count for Unitpricer compared to OPTIS indicates it's a niche app with potentially limited user adoption, or a very new app with little testing from real merchants at time of writing. Unitpricer's value proposition hinges on the merchant's need to sell products using variable units of measure in their physical store through Shopify POS.

Our Verdict
OPTIS Product Options, Variant is the clear choice for merchants who want to offer extensive product customization options within their online Shopify store. The high rating and large number of reviews suggest a reliable and well-regarded application. It improves the online shopping experience by allowing customers to tailor products to their specific needs.
Unitpricer ‑ Weight Size Vol. is tailored to a very specific need: selling products by weight, size, or volume within a Shopify POS environment. If your business relies heavily on this type of sales model in a brick-and-mortar store, and you use Shopify POS, Unitpricer could be a valuable tool. However, the extremely low number of reviews compared to OPTIS indicates that it's a more niche product with unproven reliability or satisfaction.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Given the significant difference in reviews and the potentially complex configurations associated with product customization, OPTIS might require a more involved setup, but has ample support. Unitpricer's setup could be simpler if you are already familiar with Shopify POS, however the minimal reviews make it difficult to assess.
Can I use both apps simultaneously?
Potentially, but their functionalities are largely independent. OPTIS focuses on online product options, while Unitpricer exclusively supports Shopify POS for unit-based pricing. There is likely no conflict as the function within entirely seperate channels.
Which app is better for improving online sales?
OPTIS Product Options, Variant is designed to enhance online sales by providing product customization, which can lead to improved customer satisfaction and increased conversions. Unitpricer doesn't affect online sales, as it's POS-exclusive.
