OPTIS Product Options, Variant vs Varia ‑ variants on collectionfor Shopify (2026)
OPTIS Product Options, Variant and Varia ‑ variants on collection both address the 'Custom products' and 'Product variants' categories within the Shopify ecosystem. However, they seem to target different segments of merchants. OPTIS, boasting a perfect 5/5 rating from a substantial 1536 reviews, signals a widely positive and potentially more established solution for general product variant management. Varia, on the other hand, with a 4.3/5 rating based on only 37 reviews, appears to be a more niche app focusing specifically on displaying product variants as individual products on collection pages to enhance visibility and boost sales. The core difference lies in their primary function. OPTIS likely offers a broader range of product options and variant management capabilities. Varia centers on a specific problem: making variants visible on collection pages. This approach is valuable for stores with many color, style, or size variations that want to ensure each variation gets individual exposure rather than being buried within a single product page. Varia also includes features like manual variant assignment to collections and infinite scroll, suggesting a focus on visual merchandising and improved browsing experience within collection pages.
