Opus Cart Upsell Cart Drawer vs Today's Project: Buy Buttonfor Shopify (2026)
Opus Cart Upsell Cart Drawer and Today's Project: Buy Button both operate within the cart customization category on Shopify, but they target different merchant needs and offer distinct feature sets. Opus Cart Upsell focuses on comprehensive cart enhancement aimed at increasing AOV and reducing abandoned carts through a suite of upsell, cross-sell, and urgency-driving tools. Our Verdict
For merchants seeking a holistic solution to boost AOV and proactively manage their cart experience with features like upsells, cross-sells, and abandoned cart recovery, Opus Cart Upsell Cart Drawer is the stronger choice. Its high rating and large number of reviews suggest a proven track record of success. However, for stores primarily focused on streamlining the purchase process and offering a seamless buying experience with a simple, always-visible add-to-cart button, Today's Project: Buy Button is a viable option, especially if ease of implementation and a faster checkout are top priorities. The low number of reviews does indicate that Today's Project: Buy Button might be a newer app or has a smaller user base, so merchants might want to take that into account.
Common Questions
Which app is better for increasing Average Order Value (AOV)?
Opus Cart Upsell is better for increasing AOV due to its extensive upsell, cross-sell, free gift, and rewards bar features. While Today's Project includes a quantity selector, it doesn't have the strategic AOV-boosting tools present in Opus.
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Both apps claim to be easy to use with code-free customization. However, Today's Project's focus on a single sticky add-to-cart button suggests a potentially simpler initial setup compared to Opus's broader feature set.
Does either app offer support for abandoned cart recovery?
Yes, Opus Cart Upsell offers abandoned cart analytics and tracking to help recover lost sales. Today's Project does not mention any abandoned cart recovery features.
Which app is more suitable for a store with a large product catalog?
Opus Cart Upsell's features like 'Frequently Bought Together' and cross-sells might be particularly beneficial for stores with large product catalogs, allowing for strategic product recommendations. Today's Project: Buy Button would still be effective but wouldn't provide personalized upsell/cross-sell recommendations.
What if I only want a simple 'add to cart' buy bar and nothing else?
Today's Project: Buy Button is the more suitable choice if you only need a sticky 'add to cart' bar without the additional upsell and cross-sell functionality of Opus.
