Opus Cart Upsell Cart Drawer vs We're Closedfor Shopify (2026)
Opus Cart Upsell Cart Drawer and We're Closed both impact the cart and checkout experience, but address fundamentally different needs. Opus focuses on revenue optimization through upselling, cross-selling, and encouraging larger orders with free gifts and urgency tactics. It aims to increase Average Order Value (AOV) and reduce cart abandonment by creating a dynamic and persuasive shopping cart experience. Its feature set revolves around marketing and sales tactics to boost revenue. We're Closed, on the other hand, is a simple utility app designed for businesses with specific operating hours, primarily local businesses like restaurants or bakeries. It prevents customers from placing orders outside those hours by disabling the Add to Cart and Proceed to Checkout buttons and displaying a closed banner. It prioritizes controlling order placement based on business hours, ensuring that orders aren't placed when fulfillment is impossible. The stark difference is that Opus is about *maximizing* sales, while We're Closed is about *controlling* when sales can happen.

Our Verdict
For the vast majority of Shopify merchants aiming to increase revenue and optimize their cart experience, Opus Cart Upsell Cart Drawer is the superior choice. Its robust feature set, including upsells, cross-sells, free gifts, and abandoned cart recovery, directly addresses the goal of boosting AOV and conversions. The strong rating and high number of reviews further solidify its reliability.
However, if a business's primary need is to strictly control when orders can be placed, particularly local businesses with defined operating hours like restaurants or bakeries, We're Closed provides a focused solution. While its rating is lower and review count minimal, it directly solves the problem of preventing orders from being placed outside of open hours, a crucial requirement for specific business models. It is a niche but valuable tool for the right merchant.
