OrderRules – Checkout Limits vs RuffRuff Order Limitsfor Shopify (2026)
OrderRules – Checkout Limits and RuffRuff Order Limits both address the need for Shopify merchants to control order quantities, but they differ significantly in scope and user reception. OrderRules focuses exclusively on quantity limits for products and variants, providing a simple solution for preventing overselling and managing inventory. RuffRuff, on the other hand, positions itself as an all-in-one order limits app, offering control over quantity, price, weight, bundling, customer attributes, payment methods, and even access controls like password protection. The primary distinction lies in the breadth of features and social proof. RuffRuff boasts a 5-star rating based on 15 reviews, suggesting positive user experiences and reliability. OrderRules, with no reviews and a 0/5 rating, lacks this validation and appears to be a newer or less established app. Therefore, RuffRuff is likely more suitable for merchants seeking a comprehensive and tested solution, while OrderRules might appeal to those with extremely specific and simple quantity limit needs who are willing to take a chance on a less-proven app.
