OT Section: Theme Sections vs Supergrid Collections ‑ Depictfor Shopify (2026)
OT Section: Theme Sections and Supergrid Collections - Depict both aim to empower Shopify merchants with enhanced page building capabilities, but they approach this goal from different angles. OT Section focuses on providing a comprehensive library of pre-designed theme sections, templates, and blocks that can be integrated throughout the entire storefront. It targets merchants seeking broad design control and flexibility across various page types, eliminating the need for extensive coding or expensive developers. The app highlights its diverse selection of 200+ options and aims for seamless integration and speed. Supergrid Collections - Depict, on the other hand, specializes in enhancing collection pages specifically. It allows merchants to merchandise their collections using visually engaging layouts with embedded images, videos, and AI-powered sorting. Depict emphasizes visual storytelling and aims to improve conversion rates by creating curated, lookbook-style shopping experiences. While also offering a drag-and-drop editor, Depict focuses on enhancing the product discovery process within collections and provides features such as product card duplication and e-commerce analytics at the collection level. The smaller number of reviews might suggest it is newer or has a more niche focus.

Our Verdict
For merchants looking for a comprehensive solution to revamp their entire storefront with pre-designed sections and templates, OT Section: Theme Sections is the better choice. Its focus on breadth and its large content library make it ideal for those who want a wide range of design options and don't want to invest in custom development.
However, if the primary goal is to elevate the visual appeal and conversion rates of collection pages, Supergrid Collections - Depict offers a more targeted approach. Its specialized features for merchandising collections, like AI sorting and embedded media, provide a distinct advantage for merchants looking to optimize their product discovery experience.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use for a beginner?
Both apps advertise a drag-and-drop interface, suggesting they are user-friendly. However, OT Section's focus on pre-built sections might be slightly easier for beginners to grasp initially, while Supergrid Collections - Depict's AI sorting features might require a small learning curve.
Which app is better for SEO?
Both apps contribute to a better user experience, which indirectly benefits SEO. OT Section potentially improves overall site SEO by offering better site design. Supergrid Collections - Depict improves collection pages, which can improve rankings for collection page keywords.
Can both apps be used together?
Potentially, yes. OT Section would handle the overall theme and page layouts, while Supergrid Collections - Depict would be used to enhance specific collection pages. There could be overlap, requiring a strategic decision of which app manages which area.
Which app is likely to slow down my website more?
OT Section claims to be lightweight and optimized, replacing potentially slower apps. However, adding a large library of sections could introduce performance concerns if not implemented carefully.
