OTP ‑ CoD Order Verification vs Verdivo ‑ Chargeback Managerfor Shopify (2026)
OTP ‑ CoD Order Verification and Verdivo ‑ Chargeback Manager are both Shopify apps addressing fraud, but they tackle fundamentally different problems. OTP ‑ CoD Order Verification focuses on preventing fraudulent Cash on Delivery (COD) orders by implementing an OTP verification process via WhatsApp, SMS, or Email. Its strength lies in proactively reducing Return to Origin (RTO) and protecting margins by confirming order legitimacy before fulfillment, particularly beneficial for merchants in regions where COD is prevalent. Its primary target audience is merchants experiencing high rates of fake or canceled COD orders, especially those operating in countries like India, Pakistan, Philippines, and Egypt. Verdivo ‑ Chargeback Manager, on the other hand, is a reactive solution, concentrating on automating the chargeback management process. Its strength is recovering lost revenue and avoiding future chargebacks through AI-powered responses and integrations with payment processors like Stripe. It proactively manages Verifi RDR and Ethoca alerts. The target audience for Verdivo is merchants struggling with chargeback disputes and seeking a hands-off solution to automate responses, recover funds, and protect their merchant accounts. While both apps address fraud, OTP ‑ CoD Order Verification is about prevention, while Verdivo is about mitigation after a chargeback has occurred.
