OTP Login with Phone vs Top Social Loginfor Shopify (2026)
OTP Login with Phone and Top Social Login both address the 'Accounts and Login' category on Shopify, but they cater to vastly different merchant needs and priorities. OTP Login with Phone focuses on enhancing security and streamlining the login process through one-time passwords delivered via phone or email. This app emphasizes a secure, password-less experience, allowing customers to register and log in swiftly using OTP codes. It's feature-rich, offering customization for OTP settings, account updates, and integration with SMS providers. Top Social Login, on the other hand, aims to simplify the registration and login process by enabling one-click access via popular social media platforms like Facebook, Google, and LinkedIn. It targets merchants who want to reduce friction during onboarding, encouraging higher registration rates and improved customer satisfaction by leveraging existing social media accounts. However, with a significantly lower rating and only one review, it presents a riskier choice compared to OTP Login with Phone which has a much more positive reception and greater user base.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing robust security, password-less login experiences, and control over OTP settings, OTP Login with Phone is the clear choice. Its high rating and numerous positive reviews suggest a reliable and well-received app. It's particularly suitable for stores handling sensitive customer data or those in regions where SMS verification is widely adopted.
Top Social Login might appeal to merchants seeking the simplest possible onboarding process through social media accounts. However, the extremely low rating and single review raise serious concerns about the app's reliability and quality. Unless the vendor significantly improves the app and gathers more positive reviews, it's difficult to recommend in 2026.
Common Questions
Which app provides better security for user accounts?
OTP Login with Phone is the more secure option due to its use of one-time passwords, which are harder to compromise than relying solely on social media account security (which Top Social Login does).
Which app offers more control over the login process?
OTP Login with Phone offers significantly more control, allowing merchants to customize OTP expiry times, resend limits, and mandatory account information fields. Top Social Login offers limited customization.
Which app is easier for customers who don't use social media?
OTP Login with Phone provides a login option (via phone or email) that is universally accessible, unlike Top Social Login, which relies on customers having social media accounts.
Which app is likely to have better customer support?
Based on the review count and rating, OTP Login with Phone is more likely to have better customer support. A larger user base usually translates to more support resources and documented solutions.
Which app is cheaper to implement?
Pricing information is not provided for either app. However, consider SMS costs with OTP Login With Phone. If they charge for that, that would be an added cost compared to the social media option of Top Social Login.
