Outlink External Links Button vs Puco Sections: Theme Sectionsfor Shopify (2026)
Outlink External Links Button and Puco Sections: Theme Sections are both Shopify apps competing in the 'Page builder' category, but they address very different needs. Outlink specializes in redirecting customers to external websites, primarily for affiliate marketing or selling digital products outside of Shopify. It focuses on replacing or augmenting the 'Add to Cart' button with custom links and tracking their performance. Its target audience is merchants looking to leverage affiliate revenue streams or sell products not directly supported by the Shopify checkout process. Puco Sections, on the other hand, is a comprehensive theme enhancement app, designed to provide merchants with a significantly expanded library of pre-designed sections and blocks for their store's theme. It emphasizes ease of use and customization directly within the Theme Editor without coding. Puco Sections positions itself as a solution for merchants who find their existing theme limiting and want to enhance their store's design and functionality without hiring a developer. It prioritizes speed and performance, claiming to solve the slow-down issues associated with older page builders. While Outlink is relatively focused on a specific conversion strategy, Puco Sections is geared toward broader design and marketing needs, with features like weekly section additions and marketing-focused blocks. In 2026, a key difference lies in the ongoing support and updates both apps provide, with Puco Sections emphasizing weekly new additions based on user demand, which would likely provide a more current and reactive solution for design and marketing.

Our Verdict
Outlink External Links Button is the clear choice for merchants whose primary goal is to generate revenue through affiliate marketing or selling digital goods outside of the Shopify ecosystem. Its specific feature set caters to this niche, offering easy link creation, customization, and performance tracking. However, for merchants seeking a more comprehensive solution to improve their store's overall design, conversion rate, and functionality without coding, Puco Sections: Theme Sections is the superior option. Its extensive library of pre-designed sections and blocks, continuous updates, and focus on ease of use make it a powerful tool for enhancing the shopping experience in 2026.
Puco Sections would be a good choice for merchants struggling to make their Shopify store stand out, whereas Outlink would serve well merchants wanting to boost revenue with affiliate products. The larger scope of Puco Sections makes it a more long-term investment into the site's design and usability compared to the very specific use case of Outlink.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use for non-technical users?
Puco Sections: Theme Sections seems geared toward non-technical users, promising easy installation of pre-designed sections and blocks directly in the Theme Editor. Outlink might also be relatively straightforward but its focus is on a more specific task, which might appeal more to merchants already familiar with affiliate marketing concepts.
Can I use both apps on my store?
Yes, both apps can theoretically be used on the same store, but it's important to consider how they interact. Puco Sections enhances the overall store design, while Outlink focuses on specific products with external links. If you're using affiliate products on few items only, they can be combined.
Which app is better for improving my store's SEO?
Neither app explicitly mentions SEO benefits in their descriptions. Puco Sections' ability to add more content and better structure pages *could* indirectly improve SEO, but it's not a core feature. Outlink will likely have no impact to site SEO.
Does Puco Sections slow down my store?
According to the description, Puco Sections is built for performance and speed, aiming to avoid the slowdowns associated with older page builders. However, be careful not to add sections or blocks that are not valuable to the site, or it will get too bulky. As well, be sure to check the site's speed loading scores periodically.
Which app offers better long-term value?
Puco Sections, with its commitment to weekly section additions based on demand, likely offers greater long-term value. These updates mean it can adapt to changing trends and marketing needs. Outlink's value is more static, tied to the merchant's specific affiliate or digital product strategy.
