Partialy ‑ Partial Payment COD vs Payflow: COD & Payment Methodsfor Shopify (2026)
Partialy ‑ Partial Payment COD and Payflow: COD & Payment Methods both address Cash on Delivery (COD) needs for Shopify merchants, but they cater to distinct segments with differing approaches. Partialy focuses on providing flexible payment options, including partial payments, deposits, and advanced COD rules, aiming to improve sales and reduce return-to-origin (RTO) issues. Payflow, on the other hand, concentrates on simplifying and customizing the COD experience, along with overall payment and delivery method management, by allowing merchants to hide, rename, and reorder these methods based on specific conditions. Partialy is geared towards merchants who want to offer a wide range of payment options beyond standard COD, particularly those interested in implementing partial payment plans or pre-order systems. It offers fine-grained control over COD rules based on factors like order amount, location, and product. Payflow appeals to merchants seeking streamlined COD management and enhanced control over payment and delivery options. Its strength lies in its conditional logic for hiding, renaming, and reordering payment methods to optimize the checkout experience based on various criteria. The larger number of reviews suggests Payflow has a broader user base, indicating wider adoption and possibly more community support.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing flexible payment options, including partial payments and advanced COD rules to combat RTO, Partialy ‑ Partial Payment COD is the better choice. Its focus on providing diverse payment plans and customized COD configurations makes it ideal for businesses looking to cater to a wider range of customer preferences and reduce losses due to order returns. However, Payflow: COD & Payment Methods is more suitable for merchants primarily concerned with simplifying COD management and customizing their checkout experience by strategically controlling the visibility and presentation of payment and delivery methods. Its condition-based rules offer a powerful way to optimize the checkout flow and cater to specific customer segments or order characteristics. While Partialy has a perfect rating, the low review count raises questions about its reliability compared to Payflow with its much larger review base.
