Partialy ‑ Partial Payment COD vs Progus COD (Cash on Delivery)for Shopify (2026)
Partialy ‑ Partial Payment COD and Progus COD (Cash on Delivery) both cater to Shopify merchants seeking to optimize their Cash on Delivery (COD) options, but they approach it from slightly different angles. Partialy positions itself as a comprehensive solution for flexible payment plans, extending beyond simple COD to include partial payments, deposits, and even BNPL-like deferred payments. This makes it a potentially stronger fit for merchants seeking to increase sales by offering more payment flexibility. Progus COD, on the other hand, focuses more intensely on streamlining the COD process itself, with features like a 1-Click Order Form designed to reduce checkout friction and smart COD visibility rules for granular control over who can use COD. The primary difference lies in their breadth of features. Partialy tackles partial payments upfront and integrates COD as a fulfillment payment method. Progus streamlines the COD process focusing on faster ordering and risk mitigation via advanced COD control. Partialy might require slightly more configuration, but offers greater revenue boosting potential through various payment schemes. Progus prioritizes ease of use with its 1-click order form and more focused COD visibility rules.

Our Verdict
For merchants looking to significantly expand their payment options beyond standard COD and experiment with partial payments or deferred payment plans to boost sales, Partialy ‑ Partial Payment COD is likely the better choice. Its advanced COD rules provide considerable control, and the focus on upfront payments addresses potential RTO issues proactively. However, for merchants primarily concerned with simplifying the COD process, reducing checkout friction, and implementing highly specific COD restrictions based on location or product, Progus COD (Cash on Delivery) offers a more streamlined and user-friendly solution, particularly with its 1-Click Order Form and extensive language support, and might be preferred for those focusing exclusively on optimization of COD itself. Progus is likely better for high volume COD merchants.
