Payflow: COD & Payment Methods vs PayRules: Hide Payment Methodsfor Shopify (2026)
Payflow: COD & Payment Methods and PayRules: Hide Payment Methods both aim to improve the Shopify checkout experience, but they cater to slightly different needs. Payflow appears to be the more comprehensive solution, offering not only the ability to hide payment methods but also robust COD functionality with fee integration and customization of both payment *and* delivery methods. This makes it suitable for merchants heavily reliant on COD or those needing extensive control over all available payment and delivery options. PayRules, on the other hand, seems to focus primarily on managing payment method visibility based on specific rules. While both apps share a 4.8-star rating, Payflow has significantly more reviews (110) compared to PayRules (76), suggesting greater adoption or a longer market presence, or simply more active users. Payflow highlights features like effortless COD streamlining (no post-purchase edits), advanced AND/OR condition tools, and native Shopify function integration, emphasizing a smooth and efficient user experience. PayRules doesn't provide as much detail in its description, implying a potentially simpler feature set primarily centered around hiding payment methods, therefore suiting stores that have a limited number of payment options and need more basic conditions to hide certain options.

However, if a merchant's primary need is simply to hide specific payment methods under certain conditions, without the need for COD-specific features or delivery method customization, PayRules: Hide Payment Methods may be a more straightforward and potentially easier-to-use solution. It's geared towards those with a simpler workflow requiring a streamlined hiding functionality for payment methods.
