Payment Rules Hide PaymentHero vs PrettyDamnQuick (PDQ)for Shopify (2026)
Payment Rules Hide PaymentHero and PrettyDamnQuick (PDQ) both aim to improve the Shopify checkout experience, but they approach this goal from different angles and target distinct merchant needs. Payment Rules Hide PaymentHero focuses specifically on optimizing payment options. It allows merchants to control which payment methods are displayed to customers based on defined rules, rename payment methods, and prioritize preferred options. This targeted approach aims to reduce confusion and increase conversion by presenting the most relevant payment choices. It seems geared toward merchants seeking a streamlined and simple solution for controlling their payment gateways. PDQ, on the other hand, takes a broader, more comprehensive approach to checkout optimization. It positions itself as a complete CRO (Conversion Rate Optimization) lab, offering features like A/B testing of various checkout elements, real-time delivery promises, upsells, and AI-driven insights. Its focus is on personalization and maximizing revenue through a holistic view of the checkout funnel. This makes it more suitable for larger businesses with dedicated marketing or CRO teams willing to invest in advanced optimization techniques. The use of AI and comprehensive features suggest a higher level of complexity and potentially higher value for complex stores.

Our Verdict
For smaller Shopify stores or those primarily concerned with controlling payment methods and reducing confusion, Payment Rules Hide PaymentHero is the more straightforward and likely more affordable solution. Its focused feature set and emphasis on ease of use make it an excellent choice for quickly optimizing payment options.
However, for larger businesses or those with dedicated marketing teams seeking a comprehensive checkout optimization platform, PDQ offers a more powerful and customizable suite of tools. Its A/B testing capabilities, AI insights, and focus on personalization can potentially drive significantly higher revenue gains, justifying the potentially higher cost and complexity. Ultimately, the best choice depends on the specific needs, resources, and goals of the Shopify merchant.
