Payment Rules Hide PaymentHero vs Robust Checkoutfor Shopify (2026)
Payment Rules Hide PaymentHero and Robust Checkout both aim to improve the Shopify checkout experience, but they address fundamentally different needs. Payment Rules Hide PaymentHero focuses on optimizing the payment method selection process by allowing merchants to hide, sort, and rename payment options based on customer segments. Its primary goal is to increase checkout conversion by presenting shoppers with relevant and preferred payment choices. In contrast, Robust Checkout concentrates on customizing the thank you and order status pages post-checkout, offering features such as promotional banners, social media integration, and instruction displays. It aims to enhance customer engagement and provide a more personalized post-purchase experience. The key distinction lies in their respective stages of the checkout flow they target. Payment Rules Hide PaymentHero acts before the payment is processed, influencing the selection of a payment method. Robust Checkout operates after the payment, focusing on customer retention and brand building on the thank you and order status pages. The vast difference in the number of reviews (218 vs. 3) suggests Payment Rules Hide PaymentHero has a more established user base and a longer track record. Both apps claim ease of use, though this should be investigated further through trial installations where possible.

Our Verdict
For merchants struggling with checkout abandonment due to irrelevant or confusing payment options, Payment Rules Hide PaymentHero is the clear choice. Its established user base and focus on pre-payment optimization make it a powerful tool for improving conversion rates. Its specific features address this problem directly. On the other hand, Robust Checkout is better suited for merchants who want to improve their post-purchase branding and marketing efforts. Its features help create a more engaging and personalized experience on the thank you and order status pages. However, given its significantly lower number of reviews, merchants should proceed with caution and thoroughly test the app before committing to it. Payment Rules Hide PaymentHero is recommended for its targeted approach and demonstrable popularity.
