Payment Rules Hide PaymentHero vs Square: Sticky Add to Cart Barfor Shopify (2026)
Payment Rules Hide PaymentHero and Square: Sticky Add to Cart Bar both aim to enhance the checkout experience, but they tackle different problems. Payment Rules Hide PaymentHero focuses on optimizing payment options, allowing merchants to sort, hide, and rename payment methods to cater to specific customer segments and business needs. This directly addresses checkout conversion by presenting relevant payment choices and reducing friction. Square: Sticky Add to Cart Bar, on the other hand, concentrates on keeping the 'Add to Cart' button persistently visible to encourage immediate purchases, especially on mobile. This improves the user experience by ensuring the call to action is always accessible. The primary difference lies in their scope. Payment Rules Hide PaymentHero provides control over the payment gateway experience, catering to merchants who offer multiple payment options and wish to optimize their presentation. Square: Sticky Add to Cart Bar is a simpler tool designed to boost conversions by improving the visibility and accessibility of the 'Add to Cart' button. While both fall under the 'Checkout' category, they address distinct aspects of the customer journey: one focuses on optimizing the payment process, and the other focuses on the initial 'Add to Cart' interaction.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing payment gateway optimization and offering various payment options, Payment Rules Hide PaymentHero is the clear choice. Its ability to sort, hide, and rename payment methods based on customer segments provides granular control over the checkout experience, potentially leading to higher conversion rates. On the other hand, if a merchant's primary concern is cart abandonment, particularly on mobile devices, and they are looking for a quick and easy solution, Square: Sticky Add to Cart Bar is a more suitable option. Its persistent 'Add to Cart' button ensures the purchase option is always visible, encouraging immediate action. In short, Payment Rules Hide PaymentHero is for optimizing *what* payment options are shown; Square: Sticky Add to Cart Bar is for making the *Add to Cart* button more prominent.
Common Questions
Which app has a better return on investment if I already have high conversion rates?
Square: Sticky Add to Cart Bar might offer a marginal gain, but Payment Rules Hide PaymentHero probably has a better ROI. Optimized payment options enhance conversion even more. A clearly visible 'Add to Cart' button provides less benefit to merchants who already excel in this area.
My store only accepts one payment method. Which app is better for me?
Square: Sticky Add to Cart Bar is likely more beneficial. Payment Rules Hide PaymentHero is designed for managing multiple payment options, a feature rendered useless with a single payment method. Improving 'Add to Cart' visibility can still increase sales regardless of the number of payment methods.
Which app is easier to integrate into an existing Shopify store?
Both apps claim easy integration (minutes), but Square: Sticky Add to Cart Bar touts a 1-minute setup. This suggests it might be slightly simpler, focusing only on aesthetics and button behavior. Payment Rules Hide PaymentHero, managing payment gateways, *may* involve a bit more configuration.
Which app offers better analytics and tracking?
Square: Sticky Add to Cart Bar explicitly mentions built-in analytics for tracking clicks, CTR, orders, and revenue growth. Payment Rules Hide PaymentHero makes no such claim, focusing on optimized options instead of direct tracking.
Which app is more helpful for customers with accessibility needs?
Square: Sticky Add to Cart Bar may inadvertently introduce accessibility challenges if its customizations are not carefully considered (e.g. color contrast). Payment Rules Hide PaymentHero does not directly affect accessibility, but ensuring payment options are clearly labeled and organized can benefit all customers, including those using assistive technologies.
