Persistent Cart ‑ Sync Devices vs Shopney ‑ Mobile App Builderfor Shopify (2026)
Persistent Cart ‑ Sync Devices and Shopney ‑ Mobile App Builder address different aspects of customer loyalty and sales optimization on Shopify. Persistent Cart focuses on improving the cross-device shopping experience, aiming to reduce cart abandonment and increase AOV by seamlessly synchronizing carts across devices without intrusive marketing tactics. It caters to merchants who want to address the growing trend of multi-device shopping without overwhelming their customers with emails or pop-ups. Shopney, on the other hand, offers a comprehensive solution for building native mobile apps for iOS and Android, providing a platform for personalized customer engagement, push notifications, and a faster shopping experience designed to increase retention and reduce reliance on social advertising. The primary distinction lies in their scope. Persistent Cart is a targeted solution addressing a specific pain point (cross-device cart abandonment), while Shopney provides a complete mobile commerce platform. Shopney also offers integration suites with other Shopify apps so users can bring along existing must-have apps. Shopney targets merchants looking to create a dedicated mobile presence and leverage the power of mobile-specific features like push notifications, whereas Persistent Cart appeals to those who want a simple, background solution to improve cross-device cart recovery without developing a whole new app.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with lost carts due to customers switching devices and seeking a low-effort, non-intrusive solution, Persistent Cart ‑ Sync Devices is the clear choice. It addresses a specific problem without requiring significant investment or changes to existing marketing strategies.
However, if the goal is to create a comprehensive mobile shopping experience with dedicated app features like push notifications, personalized experiences, and deep integration with other apps, then Shopney ‑ Mobile App Builder is the superior option. While it requires a larger commitment of resources and potentially a shift in marketing strategy to promote app installs, the potential benefits of increased customer retention and reduced reliance on paid advertising make it a worthwhile investment for many Shopify stores.
