PH Ship Rate & Track for FedEx vs Zapiet ‑ Rates by Zip Codefor Shopify (2026)
PH Ship Rate & Track for FedEx and Zapiet - Rates by Zip Code cater to distinct shipping needs on Shopify. PH Ship Rate & Track focuses on direct integration with FedEx, providing real-time FedEx rates, label printing, and tracking updates. It positions itself as a comprehensive solution for merchants heavily reliant on FedEx for shipping. Zapiet, on the other hand, centers around accurate delivery and shipping rate calculation based on zip codes, offering tiered pricing rules and multi-language support. The primary difference lies in their approach: PH Ship Rate & Track offers FedEx-specific functionality, streamlining the shipping process for those already using FedEx. Zapiet offers more general zip code-based rate calculations, which is especially useful for local deliveries and businesses operating in regions with complex postal codes (like the UK and Canada). Zapiet's seamless integration with their Pickup + Delivery app further strengthens its focus on local fulfillment options. While both aim to reduce shipping errors, they do so with different mechanisms to best suit the needs of varied businesses.

Our Verdict
If your business primarily uses FedEx and needs streamlined label printing and tracking directly within Shopify, PH Ship Rate & Track for FedEx is the clear winner. It simplifies the FedEx shipping process, reduces manual errors, and provides accurate, real-time rates, improving efficiency for FedEx users.
However, if you need highly localized shipping rates based on zip codes, especially for local deliveries, and want to avoid losing money due to inaccurate shipping costs, Zapiet - Rates by Zip Code is the better choice. Its tiered pricing and integration with Zapiet Pickup + Delivery make it a powerful tool for businesses prioritizing local fulfillment and international stores using complex postal codes.
Common Questions
What if I use multiple shipping carriers, not just FedEx?
PH Ship Rate & Track for FedEx is specifically designed for FedEx. If you use multiple carriers, Zapiet might be a starting point to manage general rate discrepancies through Zip Codes but will lack the direct label printing and tracking capabilities for each carrier that a carrier specific app would offer.
Does PH Ship Rate & Track for FedEx support international FedEx shipping?
Yes, the app mentions support for commercial invoices and BOL, which are relevant to international shipping. It also mentions CSB-V which can be needed in some countries
Can Zapiet - Rates by Zip Code handle complex shipping rules?
Yes, Zapiet offers tiered pricing rules based on zip code, order weight, and price, allowing for relatively complex shipping configurations.
Is it easy to set up each app?
PH Ship Rate & Track requires you to enter your FedEx account number, suggesting a straightforward setup if you already have a FedEx account. Zapiet requires configuration of zip code-based rates, which may be more time-consuming initially but offers more granular control. A quick review of their setup documentation would be ideal to assess the learning curve.
Which app is better for businesses with very specific delivery zones?
Zapiet - Rates by Zip Code is the better choice for businesses with very specific delivery zones, as it allows you to define rates based on individual zip codes, postal codes, or pincodes. PH Ship Rate & Track, being FedEx-centric, will use the FedEx shipping rates which may not always be optimized for very localized deliveries.
