Pinterest vs Shopify Formsfor Shopify (2026)
Pinterest and Shopify Forms, both in the Marketing and conversion category, cater to distinct marketing objectives. Pinterest focuses on driving sales and brand awareness through visual product discovery on the Pinterest platform, while Shopify Forms centers around lead generation and customer data collection directly on the Shopify store. Both have a rating of 4.2/5, but Pinterest boasts significantly more reviews (1633) than Shopify Forms (368), suggesting a larger user base or longer market presence. Pinterest's strength lies in its ability to leverage a vast user base actively searching for inspiration and products to buy. It offers direct integration with the Pinterest advertising platform, providing opportunities for both organic and paid reach. Shopify Forms, on the other hand, empowers merchants to proactively capture customer information, segment their audience, and personalize engagement. Its in-app translation feature also supports internationalization efforts, aligning with localized store content. The $100 ad credit offered by Pinterest can be a major attraction for new Shopify store owners. Ultimately, the choice between the two depends on the merchant's priorities. If the goal is to expand product visibility and drive sales through a visually-driven platform, Pinterest is the better choice. If the focus is on building a robust customer database and nurturing leads directly within the Shopify ecosystem, Shopify Forms provides a more targeted solution.

Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants aiming to immediately broaden their product reach to a large, visually-driven audience and are comfortable with ad campaign management, Pinterest is the superior choice. The $100 ad credit also provides a tangible incentive for initial investment. However, if a merchant's primary objective is to build a segmented customer base, gather valuable insights through custom forms, and personalize the customer experience on their own website, Shopify Forms is the more appropriate solution. It offers greater control over the lead generation process and facilitates targeted marketing efforts within the Shopify environment.
Both apps can be complementary. A merchant might use Shopify Forms to capture email addresses and then use Pinterest to drive traffic to their store, thereby increasing the likelihood of converting those subscribers into paying customers. For a new store, however, Pinterest's $100 ad credit may be very impactful.
