PMO: ProtectMyOrder vs Shipping Protection —Shipcheckfor Shopify (2026)
PMO: ProtectMyOrder and Shipping Protection — Shipcheck are both Shopify apps within the Returns and Warranty, and Warranties and Insurance categories, aiming to increase AOV and customer trust by offering shipping protection. However, their approaches and target audiences differ significantly. PMO: ProtectMyOrder operates on a revenue-sharing model where the app provider manages claims and retains 20% of the revenue, providing a hands-off approach for merchants. In contrast, Shipping Protection — Shipcheck empowers merchants to manage their own shipping protection program, keeping 100% of the revenue and handling all claims directly. PMO: ProtectMyOrder is positioned as an easy-to-implement upsell solution where the app provider handles the complexities of claim management. Its strength lies in its simplicity and reduced workload for merchants, albeit at the cost of revenue sharing. Shipping Protection — Shipcheck focuses on merchant control and profit maximization. It allows for extensive customization and complete revenue retention but requires the merchant to actively manage the insurance program. This approach is designed for merchants looking to fully control their customer experience and revenue streams related to shipping protection.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing simplicity and hands-off management, PMO: ProtectMyOrder is the better choice. The 80/20 revenue split is worthwhile for those who want to avoid the complexities of handling claims and customer support related to shipping protection. This app is best suited for businesses that value time efficiency and streamlined operations.
On the other hand, Shipping Protection — Shipcheck is ideal for merchants who want complete control over their shipping protection program and are willing to invest the time and resources to manage claims effectively. This app is better suited for larger businesses with existing customer support infrastructure or those that are willing to build it. The ability to retain 100% of the revenue makes this a potentially more profitable option, provided the merchant can effectively manage claims and customer satisfaction.
