PMO: ProtectMyOrder vs SureBright Product Protectionfor Shopify (2026)
PMO: ProtectMyOrder and SureBright Product Protection both aim to increase AOV and enhance customer experience by offering protection plans. However, their business models and target audiences differ significantly. PMO: ProtectMyOrder focuses on letting merchants upsell shipping-related premium services (shipping protection, carbon neutral shipping, free returns) and retain 80% of the revenue while personally managing claims. SureBright Product Protection offers a broader range of protections, including extended warranties and coverage for accidental damage, operating on a revenue-sharing model and handling all claims and customer support. PMO: ProtectMyOrder appears targeted towards merchants seeking higher profit margins and more control over the claims process, willing to invest the time and resources to manage them. SureBright Product Protection, in contrast, targets merchants prioritizing ease of use, comprehensive coverage options, and minimal involvement in the claims process, even if it means sharing revenue. SureBright’s larger number of reviews indicates potentially broader adoption and longer market presence or more aggressive marketing in the past.

Our Verdict
For merchants seeking higher profit margins and direct control over the customer experience, including managing claims related to shipping issues, PMO: ProtectMyOrder might be a better fit. It offers a higher revenue share but requires the merchant to handle claims. This suits businesses with existing customer service infrastructure or those willing to build it.
SureBright Product Protection is the better choice for merchants prioritizing ease of use, minimal involvement in claims management, and a broader range of protection options, including extended warranties and accidental damage coverage. While the revenue share is unspecified (and potentially lower than PMO), the hands-off approach and 24/7 customer support make it ideal for businesses that want to focus on their core product offerings and delegate protection responsibilities.
