Our Verdict
For merchants primarily relying on Post & DHL for shipping and needing a straightforward integration, Post & DHL Shipping (official) seems like the better choice, given its established user base and reasonable rating. However, merchants experiencing significant growth, seeking to diversify fulfillment options, and requiring access to a network of distribution hubs will likely find Shopify Fulfillment Network a better fit. Its emphasis on scalability, competitive rates, and reliable delivery makes it suitable for larger operations and those looking to outsource fulfillment entirely. The low number of reviews for Shopify Fulfillment Network raises a red flag, though, warranting further investigation before adoption.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up initially?
Post & DHL Shipping (official) likely offers a simpler setup due to its direct integration with a single carrier. Shopify Fulfillment Network may require more initial work connecting with and selecting 3PLs.
Which app is better for international shipping?
While both can likely handle international shipments, Shopify Fulfillment Network's access to multiple distribution hubs may provide greater flexibility and potentially better rates for diverse international markets.
Which app offers better inventory tracking?
Shopify Fulfillment Network emphasizes streamlined inventory tracking across its network, suggesting a more robust system compared to Post & DHL Shipping (official), which might have limited inventory visibility outside Post & DHL's systems.
Which app is more suitable for a small, new business?
Post & DHL Shipping (official) might be a more suitable starting point for a small business that primarily uses Post & DHL. The simplicity and established reputation could be beneficial early on. Shopify Fulfillment Network is overkill and will increase complexity.
What should I be wary of before choosing Shopify Fulfillment Network?
The extremely low number of reviews (only 1) in 2026 suggests caution. Merchants should thoroughly research the connected 3PL providers (Flexport, ShipBob, etc.) and understand their pricing, service levels, and integration capabilities before committing.
