Preorder | Notify Me Timesact vs Stockninja: Show Stock & timerfor Shopify (2026)
Preorder | Notify Me Timesact and Stockninja: Show Stock & timer are both Shopify apps that aim to improve the customer experience and boost sales related to product availability. However, they target different aspects of stock management. Timesact focuses on capturing sales even when products are unavailable through preorders, waitlists, and back-in-stock notifications. It's designed to create hype and convert potential losses into future sales by allowing customers to secure products before they're even available or back in stock. Stockninja, on the other hand, centers on providing real-time information about current stock levels, creating urgency through countdown timers, and managing product visibility based on stock. While both apps contribute to a smoother shopping experience, Preorder | Notify Me Timesact leans towards managing product unavailability while Stockninja focuses on optimizing sales based on existing inventory.

Our Verdict
Preorder | Notify Me Timesact is the better choice for merchants who frequently launch new products, sell products that often go out of stock, or want to build anticipation and capture sales even when items are unavailable. The higher number of reviews suggests a more established and tested product with a wider user base. Its ability to manage preorders, back-in-stock notifications, and even partial payments offers a comprehensive solution for managing product unavailability.
Stockninja: Show Stock & timer is more suitable for merchants who prioritize transparency and want to create a sense of urgency to sell their existing inventory. While it offers valuable features like stock level display and countdown timers, the significantly lower number of reviews makes it a riskier choice compared to the established Preorder | Notify Me Timesact, unless the merchant has very specific needs for Stockninja's simpler feature set.
