Our Verdict
Choosing between PriceMate – Make An Offer and Wholesale Lock Manager: B2B depends entirely on your business model. If you're looking to increase sales by empowering customers to negotiate prices and are comfortable managing offers, PriceMate is the better choice. Its strength lies in facilitating dynamic pricing and customer engagement.
However, if you operate a business with both retail and wholesale components and need to control which customers see specific products, prices, or content, Wholesale Lock Manager: B2B is the clear winner. Its content locking features are essential for managing B2B operations, securing wholesale pricing, and delivering a tailored experience to different customer groups. For a standard B2C business, PriceMate is generally more relevant than Wholesale Lock Manager, unless there are niche cases requiring restricted access to specific pages.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
While both apps claim ease of use, PriceMate might have a slightly easier initial setup, focusing on embedding a button and setting price preferences. Wholesale Lock Manager requires defining customer groups and rules for content restriction, which can be more complex depending on your business structure.
Can both apps be used simultaneously?
Potentially, but not ideally. PriceMate focuses on price negotiation, while Wholesale Lock Manager focuses on restricting content. There is no direct conflict, but they serve separate functions and may not be synergistic.
Which app has better customer support?
PriceMate explicitly mentions 24/7 hands-on post-installation support. Wholesale Lock Manager doesn't specify support hours, so PriceMate may have a slight advantage in this area, assuming their claim is accurate.
Does Wholesale Lock Manager affect SEO?
Potentially, yes. Hiding content from non-logged-in users could affect how search engines crawl and index your site. Care should be taken to ensure key product information remains accessible to search engines or through separate, public-facing pages.
Is PriceMate suitable for all product types?
PriceMate is more suitable for product types where negotiation is common or expected, such as high-value items, unique goods, or items where pricing is flexible. It may not be as effective for commodity products with fixed pricing.
