Privy ‑ Email, SMS & Pop Ups vs Trustoo Pop ups, Email Popupsfor Shopify (2026)
Privy and Trustoo (SendWILL/Ecomsend) are both Shopify apps offering pop-ups, email marketing, and SMS capabilities, aiming to help merchants grow their email lists, automate marketing, and improve conversion rates. Privy positions itself as an all-in-one ecommerce platform focusing on ease of use, enabling even non-experts to create marketing campaigns. Trustoo, on the other hand, emphasizes a comprehensive platform for e-commerce growth, stressing full customization and seamless integration with other marketing apps. Both apps aim to reduce the time spent on marketing tasks, but their specific approaches and target users differ subtly. While both apps provide similar functionalities, the key differentiators lie in their focus and user experience. Trustoo appears to target merchants seeking deep customization and integration with their existing marketing stack. Its claims of compatibility with Klaviyo, Mailchimp, and SMSBump suggest a focus on more advanced users. Privy, in contrast, appears to focus on simplicity and accessibility, making it appealing to merchants who are new to email and SMS marketing or who prefer a streamlined, all-in-one solution. This difference influences the perception of each app's value proposition within the Shopify ecosystem.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing ease of use and a straightforward, all-in-one solution for email and SMS marketing, Privy is likely the better choice. Its pre-built templates and simple drag-and-drop editor cater to users who want to quickly launch campaigns without extensive customization. However, merchants already invested in a marketing tech stack and seeking a highly customizable solution with robust integrations should lean towards Trustoo (SendWILL/Ecomsend). Its compatibility with other popular marketing apps and emphasis on brand alignment make it a compelling option for those with more advanced marketing needs.
While Trustoo boasts a higher rating and more reviews, it's crucial to consider the relevance of those reviews to a merchant's specific needs and technical proficiency. A simpler, all-in-one solution might be more beneficial for smaller businesses or those with limited marketing expertise, making Privy a better fit despite the rating discrepancy.
