Product Feeds by Syde vs Selling Pointfor Shopify (2026)
Product Feeds by Syde and Selling Point are both 5-star rated Shopify apps, but cater to vastly different needs within the 'Selling online' category. Product Feeds by Syde focuses on exporting product catalog data in various formats for shopping engines and marketplaces. Its strength lies in its extensive template library, customization options via placeholders, real-time previews, and filtering capabilities. This makes it ideal for merchants looking to expand their reach through external advertising and sales channels that require product data feeds. Selling Point, on the other hand, addresses the challenge of migrating or importing gift cards and store credits from other platforms or POS systems into Shopify. Its value proposition is centered on simplifying a traditionally manual or developer-driven task, enabling merchants to quickly transfer existing gift card balances to the Shopify platform. The app specifically targets merchants transitioning from other platforms or seeking to consolidate their gift card and store credit management within Shopify. Despite sharing the same Shopify category, their functionalities have no functional overlap.

Our Verdict
The choice between Product Feeds by Syde and Selling Point depends entirely on the merchant's specific needs. If a merchant's primary goal is to optimize their product listings across multiple shopping engines and marketplaces, and they need a customizable data feed solution, Product Feeds by Syde is the clear winner. Its template library and customization features are unmatched for that use case.
However, if the merchant is migrating to Shopify from another platform or POS system and has a significant number of existing gift cards or store credits to transfer, Selling Point is the more suitable choice. It streamlines a traditionally complex migration process, saving time and potentially avoiding the need to hire a developer.
