Our Verdict
For merchants selling customizable products where precise customer specifications are crucial (e.g., personalized gifts, custom-made apparel), Product Plus appears to be the better choice. Its focus on enabling detailed product customization directly addresses the needs of this niche. On the other hand, Sclips Shoppable Videos Reels is better suited for merchants who want to leverage the power of video marketing to boost engagement and sales. It would be especially useful for brands with strong social media presence or those selling visually appealing products that benefit from demonstration videos.
While both apps have perfect ratings, the significantly higher number of reviews for Sclips suggests greater user confidence, making it the more reliable choice until Product Plus gathers more user feedback. If the merchant wants to invest in video marketing, then Sclips Shoppable Videos reels is the better options.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Both apps claim to be easy to set up, with Product Plus stating "Super easy to use, No coding required" and Sclips Shoppable Videos Reels claiming a setup time of 5-10 minutes. The specific ease of use will depend on the user's technical skills, but both suggest a low barrier to entry.
Does either app impact store loading speed?
Sclips Shoppable Videos Reels explicitly states "No Impact on Store Speed: Google Insights and GT-Metrix tested.". There is no corresponding statement for Product Plus, so its impact on loading speed is uncertain.
Which app is better for increasing average order value?
Sclips Shoppable Videos Reels has the feature to 'Add on Products'. This may contribute to a higher average order value. Product Plus may improve average order value by reducing returns and increasing customer satisfaction, but it is less directly linked than Sclips.
Which app gives greater control over the user experience?
Product Plus offers fine-grained control over collecting detailed product customizations from customers, allowing a very personalized shopping experience. Sclips Shoppable Videos Reels gives control over how video content is displayed and integrated within the site but has less direct impact on product specifications.
If I sell unique, hand-crafted items, which app would be better?
It depends on the specific need. If the item requires detailed specifications or customization options, Product Plus is likely better. If showcasing the item through engaging videos demonstrating its craftsmanship and uniqueness is more effective, Sclips Shoppable Videos Reels would be more suitable. It might be advantageous to use both to collect custom specifications and showcase the item in a video.
