Our Verdict
For merchants whose business model revolves around renting physical products, Product Rentals Pro is the clear choice. Its features are specifically tailored to managing rental inventories, bookings, and logistics, complete with buffers and delivery methods to ensure accuracy. The existing positive reviews suggest a reliable and well-received solution. SB Custom Product Fields is a better fit for businesses focused on selling customizable items. It enables a wider range of personalization options and allows merchants to collect necessary information for creating custom-made or personalized products.
Given the complete absence of reviews for SB Custom Product Fields, and the presence of several for Product Rentals Pro, it is not possible to recommend SB Custom Product Fields unless the shop owner is willing to be a beta tester or risk not having a working product. Product Rentals Pro looks to be the better product to use when customizing products. It has more reviews and has rental features.
Common Questions
Can Product Rentals Pro handle complex pricing structures for rentals?
The description doesn't explicitly detail complex pricing. However, it mentions charging for insurance upsells, indicating some flexibility in pricing beyond basic rental fees. It would be best to contact the developers for clarification.

Which app is easier to set up and configure?
Based on the descriptions, Product Rentals Pro emphasizes an easy-to-use booking calendar, and robust admin tools. SB Custom Product Fields emphasizes seemless integration with online store 2.0. This suggests a relative ease of setup for both. However, until SB Custom Product Fields has ratings or reviews, it's impossible to make a fair call.
Does either app integrate with popular email marketing platforms?
The app descriptions do not mention integrations with email marketing platforms. Further research or contacting the developers is needed to confirm integration capabilities.

Product Rentals Pro is more suitable because it mentions the option to 'Rent or Buy'. SB Custom Product Fields is unlikely to directly support offering rentals alongside sales.
