Product XML Import by ProXI vs SAP Business One Integrationfor Shopify (2026)
Product XML Import by ProXI and SAP Business One Integration both fall under the 'Store data importer' category on Shopify, but they cater to vastly different merchant needs. ProXI focuses on simplifying product data import via XML feeds, targeting dropshippers and merchants who need to regularly update their product catalogs from external suppliers. Its strength lies in its real-time import tracking, product preview functionality, and ease of use for managing product data synchronization. The app's emphasis is on handling large product catalogs, especially for businesses utilizing dropshipping models, and ensuring up-to-date inventory levels. It has a significantly higher number of reviews, suggesting broader market adoption and familiarity. SAP Business One Integration, on the other hand, is a connector designed specifically for merchants already using SAP Business One as their Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Its purpose is to seamlessly synchronize item groups (categories) and items (products) between the SAP system and their Shopify store. It caters to businesses that need a direct integration with SAP B1 for inventory management, sales order processing, and potentially other ERP functionalities. The app's key value proposition is eliminating middleware systems, but it requires specific SAP Business One setup, including the Service Layer and specific DB-HANA and SAP B1 versions, making it more technically demanding to implement than ProXI.

Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants who rely on XML feeds to import and manage product data, particularly those involved in dropshipping or dealing with large catalogs from various suppliers, Product XML Import by ProXI is the clear choice. Its real-time tracking, product preview, and ease of use make it an accessible and efficient solution for streamlined product management.
Conversely, if your business already utilizes SAP Business One as its core ERP system, SAP Business One Integration is the recommended app. It provides a direct connection for synchronizing product and category data, streamlining operations by eliminating the need for manual data transfer between platforms. However, it necessitates pre-existing SAP B1 infrastructure and technical expertise, so only users comfortable with SAP B1 setup should consider this option.
