Our Verdict
Squid: Reviews, Upsells & 25+ appears to be the superior choice for most Shopify merchants in 2026. Its significantly higher rating, greater number of reviews, and extensive feature set make it a more reliable and versatile option. Merchants seeking a comprehensive solution to increase AOV, build trust through reviews and trust badges, and engage customers across various touchpoints will find Squid to be a valuable asset.
However, if a merchant *only* needs basic bundle discount functionality and prefers a potentially simpler (though unproven and possibly unreliable) app, promBundle might be considered. Even then, the low rating and minimal reviews should give them pause and encourage a thorough investigation of available support and functionality before committing to promBundle.
Common Questions
Which app offers more features beyond just bundles?
Squid: Reviews, Upsells & 25+ offers significantly more features, including upsells, customer reviews, trust badges, email popups, and various customer engagement tools. promBundle focuses almost exclusively on bundle discounts.
Which app is more likely to be reliable?
Based on the available data, Squid: Reviews, Upsells & 25+ is likely more reliable due to its higher rating and greater number of reviews. The low rating and minimal reviews of promBundle raise concerns about its stability and customer satisfaction.
Which app is easier to use?
It's difficult to determine ease of use definitively. promBundle *might* be easier to use due to its singular focus on bundle discounts, but the lack of positive reviews makes it hard to confirm. Squid's complexity may introduce a steeper learning curve, but it's comprehensive documentation and support (unspecified in provided data) can counter this.
If I only need simple bundle discounts, which app is better?
Even if only needing simple bundle discounts, Squid is likely the better choice. It includes bundle capabilities as a feature. The promBundle app is so low rated and so few reviews that it's probably not worth the risk.
Which app is more focused on Average Order Value (AOV) maximization?
Squid: Reviews, Upsells & 25+ is explicitly focused on maximizing AOV through upsells, cross-sells, volume discounts, and AI product recommendations. While promBundle's bundle discounts can contribute to AOV, it lacks the diverse strategies offered by Squid.
