Propel Subscriptions App vs Shopney ‑ Mobile App Builderfor Shopify (2026)
Propel Subscriptions App and Shopney ‑ Mobile App Builder are both Shopify apps aimed at increasing customer loyalty, but they approach this goal from very different angles. Propel focuses on enhancing the subscription model experience, enabling merchants to easily offer recurring subscriptions and manage them efficiently. Its strength lies in simplifying subscription management, offering features like automated billing, customer self-service portals, and loyalty-based discounts. It is aimed at merchants already offering or planning to offer subscription-based products. Shopney, on the other hand, aims to improve loyalty and sales through a dedicated mobile app for the Shopify store. Its value proposition is centered on creating a seamless mobile shopping experience with features like customizable themes, in-app live chat, and push notifications. It's geared towards merchants looking to tap into the mobile shopping market and reduce reliance on traditional advertising methods. While they both share the 'Customer Loyalty' category on Shopify, Shopney helps to get more customers by promoting a product while Propel helps merchants create new product types with subscription features.

Our Verdict
For merchants looking to introduce or optimize a subscription-based product offering, Propel Subscriptions App is the clear choice. Its features are specifically designed to streamline subscription management and enhance the customer experience. Conversely, Shopney ‑ Mobile App Builder is ideal for merchants seeking to create a dedicated mobile app for their store, improve mobile conversions, and leverage push notifications for engagement. If your goal is to build a mobile presence and cater to mobile shoppers, Shopney would be the better fit, even if it doesn't manage subscriptions directly.
Ultimately, the "better" app depends entirely on the specific needs and goals of the Shopify merchant. If subscriptions are central to the business model, Propel is the winner. If mobile commerce and app-based engagement are prioritized, Shopney is the superior option.
