PTT: POS Time Tracker vs Sesami Booking Appfor Shopify (2026)
PTT: POS Time Tracker and Sesami Booking App, while sharing the 'Selling in person' and 'Retail' categories on Shopify, cater to very different needs. In contrast, Sesami is a comprehensive booking and scheduling platform designed to transform a Shopify store into a booking engine, targeting service-based businesses and retailers offering experiences. Sesami provides tools to manage appointments, classes, and events, both online and in-store, with advanced customization options via its SDK and workflow automation. Our Verdict
The choice between PTT: POS Time Tracker and Sesami Booking App depends entirely on the merchant's primary need. If you're a retail store with employees who clock in and out at a physical POS system, and your focus is on accurate timekeeping for payroll and operational management, PTT is the clear choice due to its seamless Shopify POS integration and ease of use. There's no competing alternative here; PTT specializes in solving this problem.
However, if you're a business that sells services, experiences, or events, and your goal is to enable online and in-store bookings while growing revenue and customer retention, then Sesami Booking App is the far more suitable option. Sesami's comprehensive feature set, including booking flows, integrations, and SDK, empowers businesses to create customized booking experiences. While PTT offers no booking functionality, Sesami doesn't handle time tracking.
