Puco Shipping Discounts vs ShipX ‑ Shipping Rates & Rulesfor Shopify (2026)
Puco Shipping Discounts and ShipX ‑ Shipping Rates & Rules both aim to provide custom shipping rate solutions for Shopify merchants in 2026. However, they cater to different needs and offer distinct functionalities. Puco focuses on creating flexible shipping discounts based on a variety of rules, integrated natively with Shopify discounts. It appears to be targeted towards merchants who want to offer targeted discounts based on customer segments and specific purchase behaviors to reduce cart abandonment and foster loyalty. ShipX, on the other hand, is a more comprehensive shipping rate calculator, focusing on precise calculation based on item origin, dimensions, and various geographic and product-specific parameters. It is built for merchants who need advanced control over their shipping rates, potentially including dropshippers needing origin-based rates or those needing complex rate calculations based on dimensions and distance. ShipX also highlights integrations with shipping providers and AI-powered packaging, suggesting a more technically advanced solution. Our Verdict
For merchants primarily focused on offering targeted shipping discounts to reduce cart abandonment and boost customer loyalty with a simple setup, Puco Shipping Discounts seems the better option. The ease of use and native Shopify integration are compelling.
However, for merchants needing highly accurate shipping rates considering complex factors like origin, product dimensions, distance, or integration with specific carriers, ShipX ‑ Shipping Rates & Rules is the stronger choice. The AI-powered packaging and rate blending features offer a sophisticated approach to shipping calculation. Note, it also requires Shopify's Carrier Calculated Shipping API so merchants need to ensure they have access to this before using ShipX.
