PushEngage Web Push & WhatsApp vs ZigChatfor Shopify (2026)
PushEngage Web Push & WhatsApp and ZigChat are both Shopify apps aiming to enhance customer engagement and drive sales through messaging, but they approach this goal with different features and target audiences. PushEngage focuses on multichannel engagement across web push, app push, and WhatsApp, particularly emphasizing abandoned cart recovery, order updates, and back-in-stock alerts. It appears to be geared towards merchants seeking a plug-and-play solution with automated campaign capabilities and dedicated support for Shopify Plus users. ZigChat, on the other hand, positions itself as a comprehensive chat automation platform across WhatsApp, SMS, Instagram, and Facebook, highlighting features like template management, campaign automation, and workflow optimization. ZigChat leans more towards merchants seeking broader communication automation, while PushEngage is primarily focused on leveraging push notifications and WhatsApp for specific e-commerce use cases. The significant difference in user ratings and review counts (PushEngage has 5/5 with 8 reviews versus ZigChat's 0/5 with 0 reviews) indicates a substantial difference in market validation and user confidence, at least in the immediate term. This points to the potential of one solution having been available for a longer period, or simply a difference in initial customer experiences.

Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants prioritizing automated abandoned cart recovery, order updates, and back-in-stock alerts, particularly via web push and WhatsApp, PushEngage Web Push & WhatsApp appears to be the more immediately reliable choice, especially given its positive user reviews. Its dedicated support for Shopify Plus users further strengthens its suitability for larger stores. However, for merchants seeking a broader communication automation solution that integrates with various social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook, and that are willing to invest the time to set up customized workflows and templates, ZigChat might be a better fit in the long term, though it's important to carefully evaluate its performance once user reviews become available. The lack of reviews for ZigChat at this time makes it a riskier proposition compared to PushEngage.
