Pushy | Out Of Stock Push Down vs ShopSortfor Shopify (2026)
Pushy | Out Of Stock Push Down and ShopSort are both Shopify apps designed to improve collection management, but they address different needs. Pushy focuses specifically on automatically pushing out-of-stock products to the bottom of collections, ensuring shoppers see available items first. It's a hands-off solution for merchants who want to minimize the visibility of unavailable products without manual intervention. ShopSort, on the other hand, is a visual merchandising tool that offers more control over collection arrangement, allowing merchants to curate collections through drag-and-drop functionality, schedule updates, and implement smart sorting rules based on price, stock, or sales. While both apps aim to enhance the shopping experience, Pushy is for merchants prioritizing stock visibility and automation, while ShopSort targets those seeking greater control and strategic product placement. The review counts also suggest Pushy might be slightly more established, even though both have perfect ratings. Ultimately, the choice depends on the merchant's preferred level of involvement in collection management and their specific merchandising goals.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with decluttering their collections and ensuring customers only see available products, Pushy | Out Of Stock Push Down is the ideal choice. Its automated approach requires minimal effort and ensures that out-of-stock items don't distract from active inventory. It is a more reactive system.
However, if a merchant wants to strategically curate their collections, highlight specific products, and schedule updates for promotions or seasonal events, ShopSort is the better option. Its visual merchandising tools provide more control and flexibility, allowing for a proactive approach to boosting sales and improving the shopping experience. The drag-and-drop feature and scheduling functions make ShopSort a better choice for larger stores with extensive catalogs or frequently changing collections.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Pushy likely has a simpler setup with its 'one-click enable' feature and no theme changes required. ShopSort, while user-friendly, might require more initial setup to define sorting rules and configure the drag-and-drop interface.
Which app is better for a large store with frequent stock changes?
Pushy would be better for a large store with frequent stock changes because it automatically handles out-of-stock items. ShopSort's manual drag-and-drop interface would become very tedious in that type of environment.
Can both apps be used together?
While technically possible, using both apps might lead to conflicting sorting rules or unexpected behavior. It's generally best to choose the app that best aligns with your primary collection management goals.
Does either app require coding knowledge?
Neither app requires coding knowledge, based on their descriptions. Both emphasize ease of use and compatibility with any theme.
Which app offers more control over the product sorting algorithm?
ShopSort offers significantly more control, as it allows merchants to define smart sorting rules based on price, stock, sales, and other criteria, in addition to manual drag-and-drop arrangement. Pushy focuses solely on out-of-stock management and returning restocked items based on current collection sorting.
