Pushy | Out Of Stock Push Down vs Smart Collection Profor Shopify (2026)

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with improving the shopping experience by ensuring customers see in-stock items first, Pushy | Out Of Stock Push Down is the clear choice. Its simplicity and specific focus make it easy to implement and maintain. It addresses a common pain point without requiring significant changes to existing workflows.
However, for merchants struggling to manage complex product catalogs and needing advanced collection automation, Smart Collection Pro is the better option. Its ability to create dynamic collections with unlimited conditions and nested sub-collections provides a powerful tool for streamlining store organization and improving navigation. This app targets businesses who want more robust collection management features beyond simple out-of-stock handling.
Common Questions
Does Pushy change my collection sorting settings?
No, Pushy automatically restores the product to its original position in the collection based on your existing sorting settings once the product is back in stock.
Can Smart Collection Pro handle seasonal product collections?
Yes, Smart Collection Pro's flexible rules can be used to create collections that automatically update based on seasonal tags or other product attributes.
Which app is easier to set up?
Pushy is likely easier to set up because it focuses on a single, specific task. Smart Collection Pro's broader functionality might require more initial configuration to set up complex collection rules.
Does Pushy impact my store's loading speed?
Pushy's description claims real-time updates with an hourly safety re-check, implying minimal impact. However, performance tests would be needed for a definitive answer.
Can I use both apps together?
Potentially, but it might not be ideal. While they address different aspects of collection management, there could be overlap or unintended consequences. Using both requires careful planning to avoid conflicting rules or unexpected behavior. For example, Pushy might reorder items within a collection that Smart Collection Pro has already defined.
